David Beckelman
Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Beckelman began his career in the insurance industry in 1998. He joined Miravast in 2012 and is responsible for general oversight of the company’s functional areas with a focus on actuarial analysis and asset selection. Prior to joining Miravast, Mr. Beckelman was SVP & Chief Life Actuary for the AIG division responsible for investing in life insurance policies. At AIG, he was instrumental in the execution of the largest rated securitization of life settlements, the enhancement of the mortality tables and the valuation methodology used for the management of the company’s life settlements portfolio, and the implementation of a financing structure that helped to support the portfolio. Prior to AIG, Mr. Beckelman held senior roles at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company including Head of Product Development and Corporate Bond Portfolio Manager. Mr. Beckelman has a B.S. in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Michigan, College of Literature, Science and Arts and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, as well as a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Dave Cherkas
Executive Vice President, Head of Capital Formation & Business Development
Mr. Cherkas entered the life settlements market in 1999. He was an early and senior member of the team at a leading life settlements company that placed more than 10,000 policies totaling approximately $30B. With deep experience in capital markets and extensive knowledge of the secondary market for life insurance, Mr. Cherkas joined Miravast in 2016 to focus on fund development and expand the investment platform. Mr. Cherkas began his career in financial services in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Financial Advisory Services practice after he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehigh University.
Kenneth Zinn
Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Mr. Zinn began his medical underwriting career in 1979. Mr. Zinn was a co-founder of Miravast in 2012 and has built an experienced team of seven underwriting professionals. Mr. Zinn’s background includes over 10 years leading the Medical Underwriting Department within the AIG division responsible for investing in life insurance policies. In this role, he developed and managed a team of 18 medical underwriters which produced over 120,000 underwriting reports. He was also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the underwriting manual that served as the basis for the team’s efforts. Mr. Zinn received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and is a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting, and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.
Michael Colucci
Managing Director, Finance & Reporting
Mr. Colucci began his career in the insurance industry in 2009 and has held positions in operations as well as accounting and finance. Mr. Colucci joined Miravast in 2012 and is currently responsible for all accounting, finance and reporting functions. Prior to Miravast, he was a member of the operations team for the AIG division responsible for investing in life insurance policies. Prior to his tenure at AIG, Mr. Colucci spent two years playing professional baseball in Italy with the Grosseto Orioles and was a member of the championship team in 2007. Mr. Colucci holds a B.S. in Finance from Fairfield University.
Krisztina DeMattia
Managing Director, Acquisitions and Trading
Ms. DeMattia began her career in financial services in 2010 and has broad experience in project management, information technology, investment research and account management. Throughout her career, Ms. DeMattia has been a member of boutique financial services firms and larger organizations such as GE Capital where she spent six years. Ms. DeMattia joined Miravast in 2020 as an Analyst and currently has responsibility, as a Managing Director, for pipeline management, acquisition and disposition trading, lead for pre-acquisition asset due diligence and has oversight of various asset servicing responsibilities. Ms. DeMattia holds a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Bridgeport.
Paige Niccoll
Managing Director, Operations
Mrs. Niccoll began her career in the financial services industry in 1993 and has broad experience in accounting, finance, IT, operations and insurance underwriting. Mrs. Niccoll joined Miravast in 2018 to further develop and expand the company’s operations platform and team. Prior to joining Miravast, most recently Mrs. Niccoll was a Senior Black Belt Leader (Six Sigma) for General Electric Capital Corporation. Throughout her career, Mrs. Niccoll held senior positions with ACE Limited, AIG and New York Marine and General Insurance Company. Mrs. Niccoll holds a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Worchester State University, Worchester, MA.
Edward O'Leary
Chief Compliance Officer
Mr. O’Leary began his career in the insurance industry in 1985 and joined Miravast in 2012. Since joining Miravast, he has held responsibility for the firm’s Operations which included Accounting, Technology, and Compliance. Currently, Mr. O’Leary’s primary focus is Compliance and Human Resources. Prior to joining Miravast, Mr. O’Leary was with AIG as Vice President of Operations, responsible for the development and ongoing management of the operations and technology platforms that supported the largest life settlement portfolio in the market. Mr. O’Leary holds a B.S. in Accounting from Iona College and a Masters of Business Administration from Pace University.
